Page Ten, Monitor, Monroe, WA, December 28, 1972 Youth Basketball Mount Vernon Tops Bearcat Wrestlers To Be#in January 6 All Monroe School District boys in grades one through six have been invited to participate in the Monroe Youth Athletic Association basket- ball program, chairman John Hovde said this week. Turn-outs will be held each Sat- urday at the high school gym be- ginning January 6. A Jamboree Wtl! highlight the season in March. Boys may register during the first day of practice and should pay $2 for insurance at that time. Horde said the program stresses the fundamentals of the game and emphasized that all boys who turn- out will be given an equal chance to participate. The hour long practice sessions are scheduled by age groups and Horde said boys should not arrive at the school more than 10 minutes prior to practice and they should depart 10 minutes following the drills. Boys wUl not be allowed to loiter in or around the school. Some 160 area youths participated in last years program and Horde said there ts stiU ,need for coaches. Any adult who may wish to help should call him at 794-6130. A coaches meeting is scheduled for 8 p.m. January 3 at the P.U.D. aud- itorium.
