Mrs. Varney had just nine children in the lower grade room when school started in September. Then when Uptegroves moved to town last month there were three more added to Mrs. Varney's room and only last week Jean and John Moore came to live with their grandparents and joined the group. The Moore children are from Indiana and the Uptegroves from Arizona. Mr. and Mrs. Spanjer and girls and Mrs. Nancy Gruver motored to Everett on Saturday to do some shopping and Sherry and Yolonda spent the n~ght with their grand- parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Holmes. They reported to their parents when they went to get them on Sunday that they had attended church with their grandmother Sun- parents, Mr. and Mrs." J. E. Day- ment. C. on Tuesday, December 2 with Mrs. Deloris Richards and Mrs. Martha Watkins of Skykomish to .attend an Eastern Star meeting. Mrs. Denny also vis- Red with her relatives while they were there. Mrs. Nancy Gruver and children went to Gold Bar on Sunday where they spent the day visiting at the home of Mrs. Gruver's husband's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Gruver. John Slusher spent Saturday night with Kirk Corer. The boys reported that they had a lot of fun. day morning and that they 'had a wonderful visit. Mrs. Raymond Smith and Carol Jean motored to Snohomish on Fri- day to see the dentist. Mrs. Howard Denny went to Gold Bar on SAturday with Mr. mad Mrs. Eddie Bradburn. - Rick Collins*of Seattle spent the weekend at the home of Mrs. Ma- donna Bradburn in Index. Mr; and Mrs. James Fox and sons motored to "Everett on Satur- day to attend to some shopping. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dayment and Colleen also spent the day in Everett Saturday shopping. Everett shoppers Friday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Denny and Lupe and Robert, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dayment and Colleen went to Gold Bar on Sunday to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Wesley PHce and children. The Orthopedic Christmas greens and bake sale will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, December 20 at the Monroe Realty on West Main St. Swags, wreaths, kiss balls and table decorations along with Christmas cookies, nut breads, cakes and candy will be for sale. Plans for the sale were complet- ed at the December meeting held in the home of Mrs. Walter A. Bourdage with Mrs. Jack Minor as co-hostess.
