The election was held to meet operation expenses of the school, and was pass- ed with a percentage of approximately 72 per cent yes° While many other districts have levy fail- ures, the voters in this area have never failed to approve the levy .... The faithful supporters of the Rockets basketball team are traveling to the district tournament in Burlington where third-place Sky won their first victory over Bel- levue-Christian, but went down to defeat in their second encounter with LaConner. The Ill Wind: We hear that Bill Mercereau, who is in his nineties, has been bedridden since having a hernia operation .... Louise Hankins is home recuperating from a gall bladder opera- tion. Her sister is staying with them lending a hand .... Engletta Edgar has begun colbalt treat- ments in Seattle following her recent surgery. Harvey "Pete" Omeg lost his life in a house fire that destroyed his small frame home in Dar- rtngton recently. He is survived by a son, Gor- don, one brother in Granite Falls and several sisters in the area of Toledo where the funeral services were held. Robert L. Steve, a four year veteran steelheader, weighed these two in at eight and twelve pounds andthey repre- sent his 19th and 20th fish since January 1 of this year andhis eighth limit of two fish.
